At times I slip into the sweet abyss of a perfect world. I am surrounded by sunlight and warmth. Gentle breezes wisp the butterflies from one flower to the next. The only other break in flawless tranquility is the din of plump, soft, bumblebees, answering their call. My world around me has become smaller. More focused. Clearer. Things that once engulfed a young girls mind have disappeared. Things that, by distracted force, had been perceived reality have now vanished and vaporized into the nothing, misty, nonexsistent fog that they had always really been. "The past gives us an identity and the future holds the promise of salvation. BOTH ARE ILLUSIONS." "The Power of Now, a guide to spiritual enlightenment" by Eckhart Tolle. is a beginners guide to understanding and finding yourself. Once you do that, the world opens up to a vast utopia to rediscover it the way it was intended to be discovered, enjoyed and wondered. We are not promised tomorrow. If everything you knew today to be a sure thing, was gone tomorrow, and you had the choice to keep only 5 things, what would they be? Loved ones? Objects? Feelings? If you could only choose to keep one sense, which would you choose? To never hear a baby giggle? Or never feel a puppy's soft, warm tongue on your face? Would you be able to forsake the depth of your husbands eyes? What would you do if you couldn't tell your mother one more time how much you loved her? In this vast, all consuming-world, there is really not much that warrants the attention we give it. Change your focus... and everything will become much clearer.
