Life at Brunswick Manor

I gaze out of the frost covered window and my eyes immediately catch sight of the raised boxes of skeletal remains where once my garden loomed, lush and green. It seemed like only a short time ago the aromatic peppers and an abundance of their friends taunted me with the odds of them actually making it to the kitchen or getting eaten on the way. There is no scent that compares to the aroma of a garden fresh tomato. ahhh... Well, winter has finally decided to visit us this year. And with a VENGEANCE! While Mother Nature is taking it upon herself to teach us to appreciate the beauty of life reemerging in the spring, we can also find beauty in the cold bleakness of winter that has engulfed us rather quickly. While pining for the great outdoors and walks through the flower beds, I do so snuggled by the fire, curled up with my knitting and my faithful furry companions. A mug of hot chocolate is made ever so more tempting with a leftover candycane hooked on the side. Swaddled in the comfort and security of my favorite snuggly sweater, I feel like a child again, in my own secret garden.
